Take your website offline (maintenance mode)
Hide your public website behind a maintenance notice while you prepare it, without touching the dashboard or the member portal.
Maintenance mode replaces your public website with a short "under maintenance" notice. Use it while you set up the site for the first time, rework your plans, or simply want the site out of sight for a while. Your team keeps working as usual.
Turn it on
- In the sidebar, open Settings, Gym settings.
- In the Public Website card, switch on Website maintenance mode.
- Click Save Changes. The switch only takes effect when you save.
To bring the site back, switch it off and click Save Changes again.
What visitors see
Every page of your website (home, classes, membership, blog, contact, check membership, checkout and the app page) shows a simple page with your gym's name:
This site is under maintenance Your gym has taken its website offline for a short while. Please check back soon.
The page is shown in the visitor's language and tells search engines the outage is temporary, so your place in search results is kept.
What keeps working
| Who or what | During maintenance |
|---|---|
| You and your staff | Signed in to the dashboard, you still see the full website, so you can check your changes and edit in place before going live. |
| The dashboard | Untouched. |
| The member portal | Untouched. Members sign in, see their card and check in as usual. |
| Your own domain | Shows the maintenance page as well, since it serves the same website. |
The Staff Login link on the website is also behind the notice. Staff who are not signed in yet can always sign in at the main FitManager login page.
Common questions
I switched it on but the site is still visible
Two things to check:
- Did you click Save Changes? The switch alone does nothing.
- Are you signed in? Staff always see the real site. Open the site in a private window to see what visitors see.
Will members lose access to their card?
No. The member portal and the door check-in are not affected, and neither is the FitManager app.
Can I schedule maintenance for a specific time?
Not today. Switch it on and off by hand.
