SEO, social links and branding
Set your logo, icon, brand colour, tagline, search description and social links, and learn what FitManager does for search engines and link previews.
How your gym looks in Google results, in a shared link on WhatsApp or Facebook, and in a browser tab comes from a handful of settings. Fill them in once; FitManager builds the rest, from link preview images to the sitemap.
Logo, icon and brand colour
These live with the gym itself, so they apply to the website, the member portal, emails and the dashboard alike.
- In the sidebar, open Settings, Gym settings.
- In Website branding, click Upload logo and pick a PNG or JPG. It is optimised automatically and shown in your website header, the member portal and your emails.
- Choose a Logo backdrop if your logo is hard to see. Automatic reads your logo: a white or light logo sits on a dark backdrop on light pages, a dark one on a light backdrop in dark mode. You can also force Dark backdrop (light logo), Light backdrop in dark mode (dark logo) or No backdrop.
- Click Upload icon and pick a square image of at least 512 x 512 pixels. It becomes the browser tab icon (favicon) of your dashboard, website and member portal, and the icon next to your gym name in the sidebar. Without one, the FitManager icon is used.
- Set your Brand color. The website uses it for buttons and accents in every theme, and phones use it for the browser bar and the app icon background when members add the site to their home screen.
- Click Save Changes.
Use Change logo, Remove logo, Change icon and Remove icon to replace or remove them later.
Tagline and search description
- Open Settings, Website, Website & app.
- In Hero, write your Tagline: the sentence under your gym name on the home page.
- In Search engines, write the Meta description: one or two sentences, up to 160 characters, that search engines show under your name in results. Mention what you offer and where, for example "Strength gym and group classes in Karpoš, Skopje. Open 06:00 to 23:00, join online."
- Click Save Changes.
If you leave the meta description empty, your tagline is used, and without a tagline FitManager writes one from your gym name and city.
Each blog post has its own SEO title and Meta description in the post form. See Blog.
Social links
In Social links on Website & app, paste the full address of each profile you have: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. Each must be a complete link starting with https://. They appear as icons in your website footer and under Follow us on the contact page. Leave a field empty and its icon is not shown.
App store links
Requires: Own branded app
The Mobile app card on Website & app has fields for your App Store and Google Play links. Once at least one is set, your website gets an App page and an app section on the home page, and the member portal shows a link to get the app. The FitManager team usually fills these in when your branded app goes live. See Your own branded app.
What FitManager does for you
You do not need to set any of this up:
- Link previews. Every page of your website, and your member and staff sign-in pages, gets its own preview image (1200 x 630) when the link is shared on social networks or chat apps. It shows your logo, the page title and your website address on your brand colour, in the page's language, and is redrawn automatically when your logo, colour or name changes.
- Sitemap. Your site serves
sitemap.xmlwith the home, classes and membership pages, and the blog, contact and app pages when your plan has them, plus every published blog post. Add/sitemap.xmlto your website address to see it. - robots.txt. Search engines are told to skip the member portal, staff login, checkout and unsubscribe pages.
- One address per page. When you connect your own domain, every page tells search engines that the address on your domain is the original, so you do not compete with yourself in results.
Get listed faster on Google
Search engines find your site on their own, but you can speed it up:
- Go to Google Search Console (search.google.com/search-console) and add your website address as a property. With your own domain, use the Domain property and add the TXT record Google gives you at your registrar.
- Open Sitemaps, enter
sitemap.xmland click Submit.
Common questions
My new logo does not show in a shared link
Social networks cache previews for days. Facebook's Sharing Debugger (developers.facebook.com/tools/debug) lets you ask Facebook to fetch the page again.
The social link will not save
The field needs a full address, such as https://instagram.com/yourgym, not just @yourgym.
Google shows an old description
Search engines refresh their copy on their own schedule, from a few days to a few weeks. Submitting the sitemap again in Search Console can help.
